Markets are Marc’s most favourite place as you meet all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds. It is so colourful and vibrant, full of life and stories. The young and old, the rich and poor – you can meet all in a market place. It creates real contact with real people for the artist and this is seen in his paintings.
The other reason for the love of market places is that everyone goes to the market but not everyone dares to push open the door of an art gallery – this creates a space for the artist to present art in a different way. It makes a huge difference to the way art is viewed and people are happy to then interact with the artist.
